Rishi Jawaheer has been a director of the Jawa group for over 12 years. His parents came from oversees in the 1970s, training as specialist mental health nurses, and later working as nursing managers in the NHS. The family’s first dementia care home was established in the 1980s in south east London, Rishi grew up in this home along with his “extended family”. The Jawa group now operates 3 services within a purpose-built care village. During his directorship, Rishi has overseen many changes in the company, including the early adoption of sector specific technology. Rishi’s role within the business is pivotal to the delivery of high-quality care.
Rishi is exploring ways to help our work to be more centred around the people who receive and deliver care within the organisation. As a younger person in the industry the Jawa Group is passionate about supporting younger people joining the care industry. Changing the negative perception of care making care ‘cool’. Along with his skilled team Rishi has developed Care Vision CMS a leading Care System both in the UK and internationally providing the full spectrum of care from EMAR to Rota and beyond.
Rishi spent time with world-renowned professor Michael Verde and 8 other leading figures in the world of care at the Buddhist & Tibetan retreat in Indiana, USA. This experience highlighted the importance of inclusion and the power of listening.
Rishi is also the director of namaste care international which promotes meaningful activity to dementia service users. The Jawa group is an active member of the NCA and supports campaigns to highlight important issues facing the care industry to MPs and peers. Every aspect of the companies care provision is driven by a firm commitment to caring for the individual.
